Fabulous Dinner, Great Ambiance..Service- Impeccable! Highly recommend.

Maybe I went on a bad day but the food was horrible and the service was almost just as bad. Ordered a steak medium rare and it came well done. I don't know about you but the one thing a steakhouse shouldn't mess up is a steak. Appetizers weren't made fresh and appear to come in frozen and reheated. Ordered shrimp that tasted like it had been left out for weeks on a counter top. This place smells like an old folks home and should be condemned. If it's open in 6 months I'd be shocked. Get everyone out and burn it down for the insurance money - that's the only way this place would turn a profit.

Fantastic food every time!

This place is so AMAZING! We just moved to town and decided to go on our first date here...we both ordered the Halibut and it was phenomenal! The service was great..everyone seemed to work as a team to make sure we were taken care of.

Awsome food. Good environment even with the forced outside dining. They went all out on the outside dining.

In my view food was very ordinary, I'd give it a 3; ambience - 3, service - 4. Overall, satisfactory, but definitely nothing special based on one visit.

Updated: Just had a fantastic burger from here. Cooked well, amazing taste and not greasy. Staff are extremely polite and receptive and the owner ensures guests are taken care of. I definitely recommend stopping by.

Hats off to the chef. Great food. Lousy food service. No silverware, napkins on table. Had to get our own. Had to walk to counter for glass of water and pay final bill. Gal simply would not come by the table after serving others. Disabled and Handicapped Senior citizen with us got no respect. Owner of Pete's needs better staff. We'll find another diner next trip.

Excellent dinner, nice surroundings. A hint of old west combined with SoCal casual made a comfortable ambience. Terrific bartender, great grilling, a menu with seafood freshly caught from the Pacific gives it a wide appeal. Prices a bit steep but I pretty much expected that. Would definitely recommend.

My friends and I had a very delicious lunch at Jake's. I had the sirloin, which was cooked to perfection and was flavorful, tender and juicy. My friends said their meals (St. Louis ribs and sirloin steak) were also very good. The dessert was to die for, a chocolate brownie with pretzel crust, topped with a scoop of ice cream and a dollop of whipped cream. Yum. And complete with a candle on top. (For my birthday.) Our server, Carina (sp?), was wonderful, letting us take our time to order and spend time visiting without feeling rushed. The ambiance of Jake's is very nice steakhouse. They were all sparkly, too, dressed up for the holidays. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon. And the prices are very reasonable, too. I'll be back!

Great service and food was good.

They have a taco special daily three fish tacos served with this killer sauce on the side. Highly recommend ordering these. The service is perfectly fine, nothing spectacular, full bar and decent menu selection for Tehachapi. The vibe is casual, jeans are acceptable attire.

Nice quiet atmosphere. Food was delicious. Waiter was pleasant and quick.

Food was excellent. Our server was very attentive &checked on us numerous times without being a hindrance to our private mealtime. Prices little spendy but not so much to detour us from returning. Figure its worth the cost for the services we received. 5***** yes will return & recommend.

So the first time eating here and have to say the food was absolutely amazing. Service was really good they let you eat and not bug you every min. Loved the atmosphere. Restaurant was very clean. I remember that being warriors den back in the day. Only bad thing I have to say is for being called a steak house and only having one 8oz steak on the menu? Figured there would be more options for steaks? Other than that we highly recommend this restaurant A+++++++

Good service at an *old fashion" steakhouse. Well prepared steak, excellent prime rib beef soup, good veggies on the side. Really liked our attentive server. We will be back :)

Love this place. My only complaints are that they were out of Blue Moon on draft and that the ribeye was tough. It had good flavor but should have been more tender...especially for $30. Everything else was EXCELLENT!! The coconut shrimp and fried green beans are great and the rasberry lemon cake cheesecake is to die for. I highly recommend it!

Good food, friendly staff. Smaller menu but the choices on it are good though I've only been once. My parents like it and have gone a few times. Small town vibe. Is a bit pricey with cheaper options but you get what you pay for when you order on the pricey side.

Very nice. They have done a great job with the outside tables to keep every group separated. The food was great too.

The service was great. However people were too close sitting. My wife food was great yet I ordered a med rare Filet Mignon which turned out too cooked. The waitress really tried to defuse what was not working well. Other than that,it was an experience, and not a good one!😔

The servor was lovely, quick and friendly, the cocktails very good. I had the Manhattan, yummy.The food was?....not terrible. There were no organic items on the menu and no desserts for the gluten free. I give it a 3.

I love the ambiance, food and location of Jake's with the exception of the last 2 times I have gone there. Both times I ordered a steak/wagyu burger medium rare and I received a well done piece of meat :( They did offer to recook it, but I don't like to waste food so I ate it. The server did give me 10% off my meal :) I will continue to go there, but someone needs training in beef temps.

Great place to eat when in Tehachapi. We needed some slight changes to our meals and they were very accommodating. The food was great.

Outstanding did great job of making a outside eating experience

Very pleasant. Had the prime rib. Although it was cooked as ordered, it wasn't a select cut of beef. Came to us like warm. Vegetables and dinner salad very good. Our server was very attentive and kept our glasses full. All in all a good meal, however, a tad over priced for the quality of the meat. We will eat there again when we pass thru again, but order something different.

Delicious meals! The outdoor dining for safety was elegant and appreciated. I was expecting a better wine list but found something appropriate. And great service with Corinna!

Really great Filet Mignon - ! Mushroom soup delish. Old times feel, good food.

Went for lunch last weekend. The food was good and our server was awesome. He was very attentive. I was shocked to see on our bill that our iced teas, soda and coffee were $4.00 each! We go periodically for lunch, but this may keep us from going back.

Excellant prime rib, generous servings. Be aware when you give your order to the wait staff they will ask you ( for example) " do you want a salad with your steak? " DO NOT ASSUME THE SALAD COMES WITH YOUR ORDER, IT DOES NOT! Menu Prices are a bit on the high side.

Every visit to Jake’s is a treat! Martinis are cold and delicious. Personnel are all attentive and friendly. Love the seafood salad. Do yourself a favor and try the green beans with wasabi dipping sauce. Ribs are delicious and plentiful. Steaks are of top quality and cooked to perfection. The outdoor dining is a big plus during this time of shut downs. Lunch menu featured several varieties of heathy and tasty bowls served over brown, white rice or one other grain. Can’t wait to go back. Maybe tonight!

Lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. Their food is fresh and delicious. Jake's is definitely fine dining.

This restaurant seemed to be the most popular in town. The steak and appetizer were good, the waitress was attentive and friendly, but the dessert (chocolate lava cake) was not good at all.

Ribeye steak is really good and Harris Ranch quality. Love the berry dessert with a scoop of ice cream!

Cozy spot that is good for the dinner. The food took way too long but the service compt us some drinks so that was nice. All the food was good except the calamari fries. It is more like 6 fish sticks on a plate.

They had this bone in pork chop with a sauce, it was perfect! I loved the Jake's Miser Berry Moscow Mule, it was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy! My friend had the Mayaga Burger, it was a home run!

Best restaurant in town. Or at least in the top 5. (Also love the Steampunk and Red Barn). Great service. Consistent, tasty food

Michelle was an amazing and sweet waitress.. The Halibut and the Boned Rib-eye with whiskey peppercorn was delicious.. Had the Turtle Cheesecake and it was also delicious. Thank you for another great night..

The food is great, prices are extremely reasonable for the type of restaurant it is. I'm definitely going to frequent this place in the future.

Our child was turning 21, but they were in Japan! Studying abroad for 5 months. So my husband and I decided to celebrate their birthday by going out for a steak dinner, cause that's our child's favorite food. It was without a doubt the best steak dinner I have ever had, hands down!! The service was excellent and very friendly. From the appetizer to dessert it was 5 stars all the way. If you're in the mood for steak, look no further. You too will say Wow 🙂
